Bank · Revolut · crypto exchange
Bank or crypto account blocked in Romania? Asked to prove the source of funds?
We help you get your account or transfer unblocked. For individuals and companies, at our Bucharest office or online, in English.
Has this happened to you?
- Your bank blocked or closed your account overnight.
- A payment was held “for checks”.
- The bank asks you to prove where your money comes from.
- A transfer from a crypto exchange was stopped.
- Revolut or a crypto platform froze your account or withdrawal.
- The bank refuses to open an account for you.
- You are a foreign national with an EU residence permit and your account was closed.
Why it happens
Banks and crypto platforms must run AML/KYC checks: know their customers and where the money comes from. When a document is missing, or crypto or high-risk countries are involved, many banks block first and look at the case later.
In most cases the fix is a complete file that lets the bank finish its checks.

FAQ
Blocked accounts
Can a bank block my account without telling me why?
Banks must know their customers and check where money comes from (Romanian Law no. 129/2019). In some cases they may not tell you whether they reported a suspicion. Otherwise they must follow the contract and tell you which documents they need.
I live legally in the EU. Do I have a right to a bank account?
People legally resident in the EU have the right to a basic payment account (Law no. 258/2017 in Romania). A refusal must be justified, except where the law says otherwise.
How long does it take?
It depends on the bank and on how complete the file is. Banks usually answer within days or weeks after receiving the documents. We cannot promise a deadline.
Do you guarantee the account will be unblocked?
No. No lawyer can guarantee the outcome. We make sure the bank has everything it needs and that your rights are respected.
Will you ask for passwords or account access?
Never. We never ask for passwords, codes, private keys or seed phrases.
